Lionel Messi already has his next opponent to beat Leagues Cup 2023. On Monday night, Charlotte FC beat Houston Dynamo FC 2-1 and advanced to the Quarterfinals where they will face Inter Miami CF for a place in the Semifinals.
After another fabulous performance by Leo in Inter Miami’s 4-4 draw against FC Dallas, the team advanced 5-3 on penalties to continue their run to the Leagues Cup trophy. Messi’s influence is already clear, not just because of his individual play, but the improved play of the players around him.
Since his arrival, he has scored seven goals and won the four games he played with his new club. This is in stark contrast to the team’s form heading into Leagues Cup 2023, where the club was near the bottom of the Eastern Conference.
On the other touchline will be Charlotte FC, who beat Houston Dynamo FC, after a mistake by the Dynamo defense gave Charlotte the chance to win and advance to the quarterfinals.
