Chicho Arango turns up the heat against Seattle Sounders

Real Salt Lake were dominent in their opening Leagues Cup 2023 clash against Seattle Sounders, registering a 3-0 win over their **West 2** rivals thanks to goals from Jefferson Savarino, Cristian Arango, and Rubio Rubin. This was all despite losing Marcelo Silva to a red card on the 60th minute.

The star player for the Claret & Cobalt was none other than Cristian "Chicho" Arango - a man whose journey in the past year has seen him switch not once, but twice between LIGA MX and MLS. Chicho had scored 38 goals for Los Angeles Football Club in 58 appearances before making the switch to Pachuca where he made 13 appearances before returning to the United States.

His return to MLS action for Real Salt Lake saw him score on his debut against Orlando, and his latest showing against Seattle Sounders is a worthy follow-up on his fourth appearance.

Arango's goal was nothing short of emphatic. The Colombian drove into the box, performing a double step-over before unleashing an unstoppable finish past Stefan Frei. This, added to his five shots in the 64 minutes he played, earned him the Man of the Match award.
