The Philadelphia Union will be hosting the New York Red Bulls tonight at Subaru Park, with the two MLS Eastern Conference rivals taking the field in search of a spot in the final eight of this year’s Leagues Cup.

The Union were one of the best-performing teams in the group stages, having finished top of the East 1 pool after beating both Club Querétaro and Club Tijuana, in one of only two groups to feature two LIGA MX sides. In their first knockout clash, head coach Jim Curtin’s men overcame D.C. United in a penalty shoot-out after the match ended 0-0 in regulation time.

The Bulls, meanwhile, saw academy product Omir Fernández convert a penalty on the half-hour mark to secure the win in the Hudson River Derby against New York City FC in the last 32. Troy Lesesne’s team are also unbeaten in the competition - in the group stage, they beat the New England Revolution on penalties and then Atlético San Luis 2-1.

The winner of this all-MLS clash will take on either Club Querétaro or the New England Revolution, who are also in action as part of tonight’s Leagues Cup games.
