The two sides have had varying fortunes so far in their MLS campaigns. FC Dallas are sixth in the Western Conference with eight wins, six draws and nine losses, and sit in a playoff spot. The Carolina side, on the other hand, have been in more middling form - with six wins, eight draws and nine losses-, and sit out of the playoff in the Eastern Conference. Their Leagues Cup clash will be the first time the two sides have faced off.

Which teams make up the Group South 4?

Joining FC Dallas and Charlotte FC in the South 4 a Liga MX side in Club Necaxa. The Aguascalientes outfit will first travel to Texas on July 25 to face Dallas, before a trip to North Carolina four days later to take on their other South 4 opponents. Club Necaxa will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing Clausura campaign earlier this year, in which they finished second-to-last with just three wins in 17 games.
