Queretaro FC was founded in 1950 as a university team. The club then joined Liga MX in 1970 and has since won one league title, in 2005, they have also won the Copa MX twice, in 1996 and 2017.
Los Gallos Blancos are currently in 10th place in Liga MX after having won their first match of the new season.
Queretaro will form part of the group, East 1, along with Club Tijuana and Philadelphia Union. Their first match will be on July 26 against Philadelphia at Subaru Park at 7:30 p.m. ET.
Angel Sepulveda: The experienced veteran
He began his senior career with Club Atletico Morelia, or Monarcas Morelia as it was known back then. He made his professional debut for the club in the 2011-12 season, coming on for 30 minutes against Pumas UNAM.
Sepulveda has gone on to play for various clubs in Liga MX, never spending more than three seasons at a club. But one thing is true, one club that he’s always gone back to is Queretaro. Now in his third spell at the club, he’s vital to the team, playing in almost every match last season. Has over 175 appearances for Queretaro and has scored over 35 goals for them in the process.
Ettson Ayon: The Gallos hope
He began his career with the Club Tijuana youth academy, and he made his professional debut for the club in 2021, coming on for 24 minutes against Pumas.
Ayon was then loaned to Queretaro in 2022 and at the end of the season the Gallos Blancos made the transfer official for the young Mexican. Ettson is now 22 years old and has shown flashes of his potential for the club, having made 21 appearances and scoring 4 goals.
