Sunday will see the opening clash of the Round of 16 in Leagues Cup 2023 between Inter Miami CF and FC Dallas at Toyota Stadium. Tickets were snapped up immediately for what will be Lionel Messi’s first match on the road with Inter Miami, with a place in the quarter finals of Leagues Cup 2023 on the line for the winner.

FC Dallas have had a reasonably strong start in their Leagues Cup campaign led by their top player, **Jesús Ferreira**, after initially losing out to Charlotte on penalties in their first match following a 2-2 draw. They saw off LIGA MX side Necaxa 3-0 in their second group match, before scoring twice in the second half of their round of 32 fixture to beat surprise package Mazatlán two goals to one.

For Inter Miami CF, their tournament has been dominated by the hype surrounding the arrival of former Barça stars Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba. The Messi-effect has seen the Herons win all three of their **Leagues Cup** games so far. Of course, there was the iconic injury time winner against Cruz Azul from La Pulga to win the match 2-1 for Inter Miami, before Tata Martino’s side demolished Atlanta United (4-0) in the follow-up fixture (featuring a Lionel Messi brace). In the Round of 32, Messi scored his second brace in succession and Josef Martínez converted from the penalty spot to win against Florida rivals Orlando City SC (3-1).
