For Inter Miami CF, their tournament has been dominated by the hype surrounding the arrival of former Barça stars Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba. The Messi-effect has seen the Herons win all three of their **Leagues Cup** games so far. Of course, there was the iconic injury time winner against Cruz Azul from La Pulga to win the match 2-1 for Inter Miami, before Tata Martino’s side demolished Atlanta United (4-0) in the follow-up fixture (featuring a Lionel Messi brace). In the Round of 32, Messi scored his second brace in succession and Josef Martínez converted from the penalty spot to win against Florida rivals Orlando City SC (3-1).
