Today, the Leagues Cup 2023 quarterfinals begin…and end. We’re heading into the final stages of the tournament with just eight clubs remaining. Four win-or-go-home matches will determine the semifinals.
So, who do we have tonight? Let’s check it out.
PHILADELPHIA UNION VS. CLUB QUERÉTARO
- DATE: August 11
- STADIUM: Subaru Park
- SCHEDULE: 8:00 p.m. ET / 6:00 p.m. CDMX

Philadelphia Union already know how to beat (and beat up) Club Querétaro in a Leagues Cup match. They did it during the group stage, crushing los Gallos Blancos, 5-1. History could repeat itself, but in single-elimination soccer, anything is possible. It should be a great match.
INTER MIAMI CF VS. CHARLOTTE FC
- DATE: August 11
- STADIUM: DRV PNK Stadium
- SCHEDULE: 8:30 p.m. ET / 6:30 p.m. CDMX
- HOW TO WATCH: Apple TV - MLS Season Pass
Inter Miami CF has done a complete 180 as an organization since Messi arrived. The Argentine icon has helped turn one of the worst teams in MLS into a tournament favorite heading into the quarterfinals thanks to his seven goals in four matches.
He’s helped dispatch Cruz Azul, Atlanta United, Orlando City, and FC Dallas. Now Charlotte FC has its chance to keep Messi from the Leagues Cup throne.
NASHVILLE SC VS. MINNESOTA UNITED FC
- DATE: August 11
- STADIUM: GEODIS Park
- SCHEDULE: 8:30 p.m. ET / 6:30 p.m. CDMX
- HOW TO WATCH: Apple TV - MLS Season Pass
Here’s a matchup between two MLS sides who eliminated two LIGA MX sides who were favored to win the tournament. Nashville SC knocked of Mexican giants Club América in a wild penalty kick shootout win. And Minnesota United FC eliminated red-hot Toluca FC, who had scored four goals in three consecutive matches before bowing out of the tournament.
The two sides now clash at GEODIS Park to continue their unlikely deep run through the tournament.
LOS ANGELES FOOTBALL CLUB VS. CF MONTERREY
- DATE: August 11
- STADIUM: Rose Bowl
- SCHEDULE: 10:30 p.m. ET / 8:30 p.m. CDMX
- HOW TO WATCH: Apple TV - MLS Season Pass
The nightcap of the evening will be the highest-profile MLS vs. LIGA MX matchup in the knockout stages. On one side is the defending MLS champion LAFC. On the other is five-time CONCACAF Cup champions CF Monterrey. Unfortunately both clubs will be without their best scorers: Germán Berterame for Rayados and Carlos Vela for LAFC. But it should still be an exciting matchup between two of the best club teams in the region.
