Today we have Day 3 of the eighth-finals in Leagues Cup 2023. It is the last day of this phase, and we will have 5 do-or-die matches that will define the future of the tournament. Here's the rundown of the matches:

TOLUCA FC VS. MINNESOTA UNITED FC

Toluca FC is one of the few surviving teams from LIGA MX in Leagues Cup 2023. Additionally, they are one of the highest-scoring teams in the tournament, having scored 4 goals in each of their matches. Undoubtedly, they will seek to repeat this feat in this encounter.

Minnesota United FC have also scored plenty of goals, but they have faced some challenges in managing their matches. They even lost one match and advanced to this round by winning on penalties against Columbus Crew.

CLUB AMÉRICA VS. NASHVILLE SC

This match features one of the few encounters between MLS and LIGA MX teams that we have seen before. In 2022, Club América and Nashville SC faced each other in a friendly match during the Leagues Cup Showcase. The match ended in a 3-3 draw, and the MLS team won in penalties (4-2). Now, they meet in the eighth-finals, and it will determine whether Ame solidifies its position as one of the top contenders to win the tournament or if Nashville eliminates the biggest team in LIGA MX.

PHILADELPHIA UNION VS. NEW YORK RED BULLS

In this Leagues Cup, neither of the two teams has suffered a defeat, but in their last 5 direct confrontations, Philadelphia are considered the favorite as the Red Bulls haven't been able to beat them in any of those matches. Three matches ended in victory for Philadelphia, and two in a draw.

CLUB TIGRES VS. CF MONTERREY

Tigres and Rayados will headline the 132nd edition of the Clásico Regio. This is the first time they meet in Leagues Cup, and it's during the eighth-finals. Both teams will give their all on the pitch to secure a spot in the next phase and uphold the prestige and pride of their institutions. This match will not only captivate Nuevo León but also draw attention from all teams in LIGA MX and MLS.

LOS ANGELES FOOTBALL CLUB VS. REAL SALT LAKE

LAFC are one of the favorites to win the Leagues Cup title, having performed in an excellent manner throughout the season. It's worth noting that the L.A. team started their participation in this tournament in the Round of 32, where they achieved a resounding 7-1 victory over FC Juárez.

Real Salt Lake managed to bounce back from a painful defeat in the second group stage match and found their best form in the Round of 32. Now, they will aim to maintain their momentum and defeat LAFC to secure a spot in the quarter-finals.
