On a rainy day that saw delays from thunderstorms, there was plenty of emotion at the DRV PNK Stadium when the '10' came out onto the pitch to greet the fans of his new team for the first time.
"Thank you very much, good evening. First of all, I want to thank all the people of Miami for the welcome and love since I have arrived in the city. I am very excited, very happy to be here," began the Argentine star.
He then continued: "I really want to start training and competing; I want to win and help the club continue to grow. I hope that during this time you will be with us. My teammates and I will always give our best, I also want thank them for how they have received me from day one".
Finally, he described how he feels when facing this new journey in his career: "I am very happy to have come to this city with my family and to have chosen this project. I have no doubts that we are going to have a good time and that we can do very good things."
It should be remembered that Lionel Messi will officially make his debut on the pitch in Leagues Cup 2023 when Inter Miami CF take on Cruz Azul on Friday, July 21.
Sergio Busquets joins Leo Messi

The Spaniard accompanied Leo at the show and offered a message in English to the fans who were in the stadium: "I am very happy, it is a pleasure to be part of Inter Miami" and added: "I am very excited to start training, see you soon".
