NYCFC vs. QUERETARO (Yankee Stadium)

New York City FC and Club Queretaro clash for the first time on Sunday at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx to open their 2024 Leagues Cup campaigns.

This encounter kicks off the action in the East 1 group, which also includes reigning MLS Supporters’ Shield holders FC Cincinnati. The MLS side will also look to break its own four-match winless streak before it heads to Ohio to close the group.

KANSAS CITY vs. CHICAGO (Children's Mercy Park)

Chicago Fire and Sporting Kansas City — two clubs that enjoyed limited success in last season’s Leagues Cup — face off in a crucial West 4 group match Sunday at Children’s Mercy Park.

Both clubs advanced past the group stage in the 2023 tourney, but went no further, losing in the Round of 32 to LIGA MX opponents. And with West 4 mate and LIGA MX powerhouse Toluca on the horizon for both, a positive result will go a long way toward cementing another berth in the knockouts.

PORTLAND vs. LEON (Providence Park)

On Sunday, another thrilling intraleague matchup comes to the forefront as the Portland Timbers host Club Leon at the raucous Providence Park in the first match of Group E. While Leon is familiar with Providence Park, having played a friendly there in 2016, this will be their first competitive match against the team from Rose City.

With a capacity of 25,218, the home of the Timbers will provide a tense environment for Leon, who will look to replicate their Leagues Cup form from last year, winning both group matches.
