CF Monterrey are preparing for a vital clash against Nashville SC for a spot in the final of Leagues Cup 2023, and the commitment to winning the title is so great that it has been revealed in the last few hours that one of their most important players will play with a fractured hand.

This concerns Omar Govea, a key midfielder in Fernando Ortíz's lineup during the international competition, who suffered a fracture of two metacarpal bones in his right hand during the quarter-final match against Los Angeles Football Club.

The news was confirmed through the club's social media: "The player will undergo conservative treatment, and his right hand will be protected with a splint so he can continue to participate in the international tournament. Omar, thank you for your courage and bravery to continue in the tournament!" they stated.

Govea has started in all five of Rayados' matches in Leagues Cup 2023 and has taken advantage of the opportunities provided by the Argentine coach with good performances.

Since joining the club in January 2023, this has been the competition where he has had the most consistent playing time in the starting eleven. Previously, in both the Torneo Clausura and Apertura of LIGA MX, the 27-year-old midfielder had mostly been used as a substitute on the bench.
