This Thursday’s Leagues Cup 2023 action sees **Real Salt Lake** welcome **Club León** at America First Field, with a spot in the Round of 16 on the line. The match-up sees the winner of the West 3 group cross paths with the runners-up from West 1 - here’s everything you need to know about the game.
The Mexican side are unbeaten so far in the competition. In their first group stage match, Club León got the better of the Vancouver Whitecaps in an incredible penalty shoot-out (16-15) after drawing 2-2 in regulation time. In their second fixture, they beat LA Galaxy 1-0. Having racked up five points, they were able to go through as group winners to the knockout stages.
Real Salt Lake, meanwhile, would see off Seattle Sounders FC with a 3-0 win in their opening game. However, they lost by that same scoreline in the following fixture, against CF Monterrey. The MLS side have come into this summer’s tournament off the back of a strong start to the campaign, given they currently sit third in the Western Conference standings.
The winner of tonight’s match-up will take on MLS Cup 2022 winners **Los Angeles FC**, who breezed past **FC Juárez** 7-1 in their first match at Leagues Cup 2023.
