Toronto FC was founded in 2005 by Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd, becoming the 13th franchise and the first Canadian team to play in Major League Soccer, and also the first from Canada to have a specific soccer stadium.
Toronto FC will be part of Group East 3 in the 2023 Leagues Cup, alongside New York City Football Club and Atlas FC from MLS and LIGA MX, respectively. Toronto FC enters the tournament while currently being in the penultimate position in the Eastern Conference.
Toronto FC makes its debut in the Leagues Cup 2023 this Wednesday, July 26, at 7:30 PM ET at Red Bull Arena against New York City Football Club.
