Leagues Cup 2023 starts on July 21 and ends on August 19. It is set to revolutionize North American soccer by pitting 47 teams from Major League Soccer and LIGA MX against each other.

Clubs were divided into 15 groups of three participants and distributed based on their prior performances in their respective leagues in 2022. 

The tournament will be played across 28 stadiums located in the United States and Canada

Club Pachuca and Los Angeles FC, 2022 champions of LIGA MX and MLS, respectively, already have their place secured in the round of 32. They will be joined by the top two of each group to play the direct elimination phase.

HOW WERE THE GROUPS FORMED IN THE 2023 LEAGUES CUP?

From second to 16th in MLS, clubs were distributed per group in descending order. Meanwhile, from second to 16th in Liga MX, they went to those groups in reverse order. The remaining 13 clubs from MLS and the two clubs from Liga MX were drawn to complete the trios in the groups.
