Founded by Anthony Lizzy and his dedicated comrades, the bar's mission was to rally more supporters for their beloved team and foster a sense of unity among the fans.
The idea of ringing a bell for each CF Montreal goal was the brainchild of none other than Lizzy's wife. Drawing inspiration from Montreal's rich history as the city of 100 bell towers, she proposed the concept to her husband, igniting a spark of brilliance. Fuelled by a shared passion for their team, Lizzy and the other founders of 1642 MTL embarked on a journey to manifest this unique tradition.
And so, 'North Star' was born. Weighing a staggering 1576 pounds (700 kg) and boasting a diameter of 44 inches, this mythical bell found its hallowed place within the stadium.
