It’s power vs. power between two Major League Soccer clubs coming off big wins over top LIGA MX clubs who were favored to win Leagues Cup 2023.

Nashville SC went through a roller coaster of emotions in their round of 16 match against Club América. After an exhilarating 90 minutes where Nashville equalized on the last kick of the match, the home side felt the agony of defeat when their last penalty shot was blocked. Until the referees ruled the goalkeeper came off his line and had the kick retaken. One round later, Nashville SC was through to the quarterfinals.

Minnesota United FC’s defense clamped down on a Toluca FC offense that had scored four goals in three consecutive matches. The club jumped out to a 2-0 lead, before giving the lead up and ending regulation tied 2-2. But the Loons outperformed their opponents in the penalty shoot out to move on.
