Until the referees ruled the goalkeeper came off his line and had the kick retaken. One round later, Nashville SC was through to the quarterfinals.

Minnesota United FC’s defense clamped down on a Toluca FC offense that had scored four goals in three consecutive matches. The club jumped out to a 2-0 lead, before giving the lead up and ending regulation tied 2-2. But the Loons outperformed their opponents in the penalty shoot out to move on.
