The second match-up of the Central 2 group sees **Minnesota United FC** welcome **Chicago Fire FC** to Allianz Field on July 27. While it’ll be a second group stage match for the hosts, The Fire are no newcomers when it comes to Leagues Cup, though, having been involved in the competition’s inaugural edition back in 2019.
Both teams have had middling campaigns so far in MLS this season, although both remain in contention for a spot in the MLS Cup Playoffs. Chicago Fire came out on top the last time the two sides met, with a Kei Kamara double securing the three points back in April. The Illinois outfit also go into the tournament having enjoyed an upturn in form, winning their last three games.

Also in contention for a spot in the knockout stages are Club Puebla, who Minnesota United took on in their first match, on July 23, with the MLS side winning 4-0 thanks to doubles from Hlongwane and Reynoso. The Fire will be back at their home ground, SeatGeek Stadium, as Puebla come to town for the final match of the pool, to be played on July 31. La Franja are also hoping for a strong showing at Leagues Cup to get their season off the ground, having gone winless in their first three matches of the LIGA MX season so far.

The match between the two domestic rivals will take place on July 27 at Allianz Field, kicking off at 8:00 pm ET and 6:00 pm in Mexico City. The game will be broadcast both in the United States and Mexico on AppleTV+.
