2021: A key member of Ronny Deila's team, Moralez once again showed his quality in the final third throughout the 2021 season. Playing 30 regular season games, Moralez produced 11 assists and 3 goals during that run. It would be a similar story in the post season as he produced three assists and one goal during the Club's playoff run. He finished the season with a well taken penalty in the MLS Cup Final to help the team win its first major trophy.
2020: The veteran playmaker saw his season disrupted by a knee injury but was still able to contribute one goal and four assists in 13 regular-season appearances.
2019: Moralez earned his first MLS All Star call, made the MLS Best XI, and was named Team MVP for 2019 on the back of his best season to date for NYCFC. Our resident Spidey completed the season with seven goals and 20 assists to his name, becoming just the third player in league history to make 20+ assists in a singular season.
2018: Maxi Moralez raised his game another level for NYCFC in his second season as the #10. The Argentine playmaker scored 8 goals and finished fourth in MLS with 16 assists on the season. Moralez was a vital piece of the puzzle for NYCFC’s midfield, and was deservedly named Player of the Season by the football club.
2017: The marquee Designated Player signing and Serie A veteran showed his class in 2017, starting 28 matches in his first season with NYCFC. He frequently linked up with David Villa, contributing five goals and nine assists from his playmaking role.
2016: Maxi joined Club Leon in Mexico where he has featured on 25 occasions, helping them to an eighth place finish.
International: Maxi was a teammate of Sergio Aguero and Angel Di Maria in Argentina’s U20 FIFA World Cup-winning squad, earning the Silver Ball and the Bronze Shoe awards thanks to his four goals, including one in the semifinal. Moralez went on to win his first senior international cap with Argentina in a 4-1 friendly win over Venezuela in March 2011.
2011: Maxi joined Italian Serie A team Atalanta where he spent four years, appearing in 109 games, netting 16 times and assisting 17 more.
2009: Maxi joined Velez Sarsfield where he enjoyed one of his greatest moments of his career, scoring the winning goal against Huracan on the final day to clinch the Argentine title.
2007/2008: Moralez was bought by FC Moscow where he played for half a season before being loaned back to Racing Club. At Racing Club, he made a key contribution in 2007/2008, scoring the decisive goal against Belgrano to steer his boyhood club away from relegation.
2005: Moralez began his professional career with Racing Club in the Argentine Primera División.
